"The LGBT community has been an ally to me through the years. Since I have been in the entertainment field since I was a child, I have been so supported and have had so many friends who have showed me such compassion and have been there for me," she told Next Magazine. "It has been amazing."
She continued, "Through good choices and bad choices, ups and downs in my life, I have had so many friends that have changed my life. Taught me about confidence. Taught me how to love myself when I wasn't loving myself. Taught me how to love myself imperfections and all, bad choices and all. That's the biggest gift that the LGBT community has given to me."
"The support for my career of course has been an amazing and a wonderful thing that I am so grateful for," she added. "But more importantly, the support just as individual friends. Before I could ever afford to have a therapist, so many therapy sessions, so many tears, so many moments of clarity of self-acceptance that have happened in my life."
